Uh....that may be an overstatement. But today is the day I pledge to do every task in the book, 'This Book Will Change Your Life', one task a day for a whole year.
Why? Basically because I'm bored. Lived in the same old town, in the same old house, for my whole life. I am currently dreaming about living in London and am hoping it will happen in the next year....but until then, I am going to complete the crazy tasks in the book.
So....Day 1
The book says it's a warm-up day and lists many tasks that I can do, but says to choose one. Because I'm feeling energetic, I'll do a few....
Do one press-up: Done
Perform a striptease (in private): No one to striptease for (unfortunately)
Learn to play chopsticks: No piano :(
Incease your typing speed by three words a minute: I used the website http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php to see if I could increase my speed.
First go:
47 words per minute (please note that I cannot touch type AND I look at the keys when typing....)
Second go:
41 WPm..........ARGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention I hated typing at school!!
Third go (please get 50 wpm)
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO - 50WPM!!
Third task: DONE
Jaywalk in a pedestrian zone: At home all day except for a trip to the gym...so unable to do.
Set all your clocks to exactly the right time: I have a watch (that needs to be fast otherwise I'll always be late) and my mobile...
Fantasize about your partner: See reason for second task above
Use a different thickness comb: Only got one comb....
Hold the phone up to your other ear: Done... a bit weird and painful as I recently got my tragus pierced and phone rubbed against it...also suspect the metal bar scratched my phone.....
Tell someone your middle name: As I'm having a rather bland day at home...people already know it...
Leave work 5 minutes early: It's the weekend
Bookmark a new website: Done http://www.thiswebsitewillchangeyourlife.com/content/ check it out for more information about the authors of 'This Book Will Change Your Life'
Give your genitalia pet names: Punani
Insult an insect: strangely haven't seen any today!!
Triple tie your shoelaces: Done. Good for running.
Whisper a white lie while no one's listening: Done...'I hate lollies' Lie
Try a new sandwich doing: ate soup for lunch....although yesterday I tried sourdough with ham, lettuce tomato and herby cheese. Highly recommend herby cheese.
Go on a one-minute hunger strike: Done...although difficult. Love food.
Day one is done. Bring on tomorrow!!
